The Origin Story, Unfiltered
2001 – 2007
From front desk in Downtown Long Beach to running the damn show in Downtown LA – I rose through the ranks across six franchisee + two corporate locations in Southern California, becoming the first and only female GM and AGM to consistently outsell, outperform, and out-hustle everyone in the region for six years straight, in a male dominated industry.
General Manager
2001 – 2007
Promoted & Recruited Seven Times at Corporate + Franchise Locations Throughout Southern California
- General Manager (Downtown LA), Operations Manager (Venice Beach, the Mecca of Body Building), Assistant General Manager (Redondo Beach), Assistant General Manager (Downtown LA), Fitness Consultant, Sales (Downtown Long Beach), Front Desk Manager (Downtown Long Beach), Front Desk Baddie (Downtown Long Beach)
Queen of Total Revenue
- Led 150+ staff in DTLA to consistently drive $375K+ in monthly revenue and 300+ new memberships — every damn month.
- Broke records as the only female GM/AGM across six franchisee + two corporate locations, slaying in a male-dominated industry.
- Handled weekends like a bonus sniper — always hitting Level 2 (top-tier) incentives in total revenue and memberships.
- Had a sixth sense for closing gaps — if we were a couple hundred short, I’d go shopping in our pro shop (Adidas jumpsuit for me, gym bag for the homie) and push us into Level 2 bonus territory. Spend $200 to make $850 – cha ching.
- Built loyalty through thoughtful comps like smoothies, bottled water, and PT evals — keeping things authentic, high-vibe, and strategically profitable.
- Ran renewal promos, stacked memberships, crushed and exceeded every target
Renewal Goddess
- Sold $999 3-year memberships like it was Black Friday every day, savage and scrappy in early-’00s DTLA, when no one thought it was possible.
- Ran stacked renewal campaigns, flipped expired lists, offered one-day-only deals, and doubled-down on weekends for that Level 2 bonus magic.
- Added comp smoothies + PT evals to every renewal to drive repeat visits, juice bar revenue, and PT conversions — tracked it, proved ROI, and scaled it.
Executive Locker Room Boss
- Transformed the premium locker room into a money-printing retreat for downtown execs – TV, laundry service, peace + quiet.
- Pitched the value, sealed the deals, and made every executive feel like a straight-up baller.
Closer of Deals, Breaker of Goals
- Created custom leaderboards with staff nicknames (shoutout to Joser the Closer), built culture, and turned closeouts into high-energy revenue ragers.
- Took over when it counted — dropped sandbagged deals to out-earn every other club by thousands, every single closeout, (bi-monthly).
- Closed the toughest objections with a handshake, a comp smoothie, and that signature “welcome to the fam” energy.
- Consultants called me in when they couldn’t close — I always could. An absolute closing machine in an ABC environment.
Profit Center Killer
- Turned every inch of the club into a revenue stream — if it didn’t have a SKU, I created one.
- Personal training packages, spin packs, tanning, juice bar, retail — I had members charging their card on file like it was second nature.
Ops Ninja
- Ran a 35,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility (Olympic pool + all) like a symphony conductor.
- Spotted a burnt-out blub from 50 yards, kept staffing tight, and cleanliness tighter.
- Surprise visits from owners, VP’s, corporate, or health inspections? We were always game-face ready.
Relationship Building Extraordinaire
- Worked the floor, built real bonds, enforced gym etiquette (trust me — I’ve got steam room stories for days), and kept the vibe immaculate.
- Created a high-performing, high-rewarding environment where 12-hour days didn’t feel like a grind — we worked hard and had a blast doing it.
- Shoutout to Big Sexy for leaving the Hollywood club to come to DTLA — where the money was! WE SLAYED THAT SHIT!
Franchise Fixer
- Take your pick: Long Beach, Downtown LA, Redondo Beach, Venice Beach (the Mecca of Body Building) corporate and franchisees, I did it all, all scross SoCal
- My reputation as a revenue whisperer followed me from Downtown Long Beach to Downtown LA, Redondo Beach to Venice Beach (the Mecca of Bodybuilding), and back to DTLA.
- Recruited and promoted to fix broken clubs, rebuild teams, and annihilate targets — every time.
- Think: Madonna in a headset meets Gordon Ramsay with a smoothie in hand.
- When I showed up, revenue lit up, team morale hyped up, and the awards stacked up
The Gas Company Lofts Deal Maker
- Negotiated a game-changing partnership with the historic Gas Company Lofts across the street — every resident got a free Gold’s Gym membership.
- Locked in guaranteed monthly EFT revenue, tracked usage + ROI, and made the building an extension of our member base.
- Then I moved into a loft myself — with concierge service, skyline views, free underground parking, and a 7-minute walk to work. Urban queen status unlocked.
